Stackable washer dryers measure 27” wide by 26” to 33” deep and 74” to 79” tall when stacked. Stacked laundry center dimensions are similar, or the same, as stackables. Standard small stackables measure at 24” wide by 33” to 36” tall by 24” to 26” deep. They stand between 66” and 72” tall when you stack them.

Stackable washer dryers are usually front loader units that you can either stack or place side-by-side. The standard dimensions for a stackable washer dryer are 27” wide by 26” to 33” deep and 74” to 79” tall when stacked. Unstacked, the standard height of a washer and dryer is 33 to 39 inches.

So how much space do you need to easily install your stackable washer dryer? Whether it’s a closet, laundry room, or under a counter, there needs to be plenty of room for the unit. In order for your washer dryer to function properly, it needs enough space to work safely.

For full-sized stackables, the space needs to be 80” tall by 28” wide by 31” to 33” deep. Laundry centers typically need a space that is 74” to76” tall by 24” wide by 27” to 33” deep. The space required for small stackable washer dryers needs to measure 68” tall by 24” wide x 24” to 25” deep.

There should be about 4-feet in front to load and unload the laundry with plenty of door clearance. If installing in a closet, be sure the closet door closes completely and does not bump against the units. The dryer hose needs to be about 6 inches to vent properly and an inch around all sides to buffer noise.

You have all the measurements and have a space that already has the vents and hookups necessary. Now it is time to install the stackable washer dryer, but first, there is some prep to do. Measure any doorways and hallways that you’ll move the stackable through to ensure there is enough room.
